About ITDA Trainer Levels

Requirements to Qualify As an ITDA Instructor Trainer

  • Have a minimum experience of working with at least 2 ITP's/IDC's, (Instructor) Courses

  • Have a recommendation / reference from an ITDA Trainer or Course Director or other

  • Be Assessed and evaluated by an ITDA Assessor Examiner

  • Demonstrate Advanced Rescue Skills (Rescue x2 Trainers or 1xCD and 1xTrainer)

  • Assess and Evaluate a minimum of 4 Instructor Candidates in Theory and Diving Skills

  • Be knowledgeable in Diving Physics, Dive Science, Physiology and Decompression Theory

  • Demonstrate First-Aid Skills in DCS and DCI Injuries, Use a BVM or Power Ventilator / AED

How to become an ITDA Instructor Trainer?

Firstly candidates at this level should have a minimum of the following experience levels:

  • Be 21 years or older

  • 3 years experience as a Scuba, Technical or Specialist Instructor (or 2 years if Technical)

  • Demonstrate above average training, teaching, and Assessment Skills for Instructors

  • Have a basic knowledge of Education and training at an academic level

  • Pass at 85% the ITDA Trainer Exam or online program

There are 3 paths to becoming an ITDA Instructor Trainer...

  1. Upgrade by Experience and attend an ITDA IT/Assessor Course Program

  2. Be a technical instructor with experience training leadership levels and assisting a Course Director

  3. Crossover/Upgrade from another agency at trainer level or be an IDC Staff having 4 IDC's experience or certified as a technical trainer (any agency). This level Must take our Assessor program
